Der Kombi ist fast zehn Zentimeter l\u00e4nger, drei Zentimeter breiter und auch deutlich h\u00f6her als der Vorg\u00e4nger geworden. Schlie\u00dflich wuchtet der BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring massive 340 PS an die Hinterr\u00e4der und sorgt damit f\u00fcr mehr als souver\u00e4ne Fahreindr\u00fccke. H\u00e4lt man sich allerdings an die \u00f6sterreichische Gesetzgebung und geht\u00b4s etwas entspannter an, sieht das nat\u00fcrlich anders aus. Unser Testschnitt lag bei ordentlichen 20,7 kWh pro hundert Kilometer &#8211; die von BMW angegebene WLTP-Angabe von 16,5 bis 19,3 kWh liegt da gar nicht so weit daneben. Laut Hersteller ben\u00f6tigt es im Idealfall eine halbe Stunde, bis die Batterie wieder auf 80 Prozent ist. Wie heutzutage im Premiumsegment \u00fcblich, l\u00e4sst sich auch beim i5 die Reise ladetechnisch per Navi punktgenau vorplanen. Innen findet man das von BMW mittlerweile fl\u00e4chendeckend eingesetzte Curved Display inklusive des passenden Bediensystems. Die Bel\u00fcftungseinstellung wird durch winzige Schalter am Armaturenbrett gesteuert. Auch die technische Umsetzung ist, wie von BMW gewohnt, hervorragend. Eine kleine Einschr\u00e4nkung gibt\u00b4s allerdings: eDrive hei\u00dft Heckantrieb &#8211; xDrive, also Allrad bekommt man im E-Bereich derzeit nur wenn man zum BMW i5 M60 xDrive mit seinen brachialen 601 PS greift und mindestens 102.000 Euro hinlegt.
